Emnée van den Brandeler has won the Vonne Lund Prize at the EurSafe Conference 2021
On Saturday June 26th, Emnée van den Brandeler won the Vonne Lund Prize at the EurSafe Conference 2021 for “Justice and Food Security in a Changing Climate” in Fribourg. Her presentation, “The Political Turn of Animal Ethics – A virtue ethical approach” was presented as part of her PhD programme at the department of theoretical philosophy, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Markus Wild and Dr. Angela Martin. An evaluation panel appointed by the EurSafe Board awarded her presentation as the best oral paper presentation among all participating master and doctoral students. EurSafe initiated the Vonne Lund Prize in memory of Dr Vonne Lund (1955-2009), an esteemed EurSafe colleague and long-standing member. She engaged in and was committed to interdisciplinary research and she had a strong research interest in human-animal interactions.
